[message]Woven in Fox Brothers’ Brown Slate Glen Check Tweed, this overshirt is cut from a cloth that carries with it the atmosphere of the Somerset landscape. The subtle play of colour recalls the rolling moors and shaded valleys, while its tailored construction brings the cloth firmly into a modern setting.
Drawn from the Fox Tweed collection, the cloth itself is rooted in archival designs from the mid-20th century. At a substantial 480/510g, the tweed is both weighty and reassuring, with a closely woven finish that offers warmth and a natural resistance to the elements.
The overshirt is detailed with chest pockets, buttoned cuffs and a button-through front, balanced by a tonal interlining. Its straightforward design allows it to be worn as a layering piece over knitwear, or simply on its own, working as easily with denim and corduroy as with flannel trousers.
This jacketing cloth is woven in the town of Wellington, Somerset by Fox Brothers, who have been weaving cloth for over 200 years.
The range of patterns and designs are directly inspired by Fox Brothers’ extensive archives dating to the mid-1900s and echo the colours of Somerset’s surrounding moors in their rich mélange of shades.
Fox Tweed is designed for both city and country jackets, and pairs perfectly with Fox Flannel trousers.
