Midnight Herringbone Flat Cap

The Merchant Fox full shape caps are based on a quintessentially English style with a full back and crown with a concealed peak. Each cap is hand cut in England using age-old techniques and are fully lined.

This subtle classic herringbone is faint in deep black and navy, woven in Fox Brothers’ west of England mill using luxury pure wool yarn that create a wonderful texture and tone. The set of the cloth is taken from Fox's extensive archive and is typical of West of England cloth, 'Proper cloth'.

The pure wool check flannel used for these caps is woven by Fox Brothers & Co Ltd. Established in 1772, Fox has a rich history of producing fine woollen and worsted cloths in Somerset and some of the people involved in the weaving of this extraordinary cloth are the fourth generation of their family to work for Fox Brothers.
