Oak Bark Leather Bound Journal
This beautifully hand-cut, hand-stitched journal is made from full grain oak bark tanned leather. The rich colourings are from the natural tanins found in the oak bark.
The exquisite durability of this journal make it perfect for business and travel, with a leather fastening that will keep it secure during transit. The recycled refillable pages means this journal will last for years to come.
The full grain finish enables the extraordinary character of the leather to be seen; each blemish and scar is visible, which results in something truly unique as no two journals are ever the same.

Each journal has been hand-crafted in South Devon by Tanner Bates, a fourth generation leather worker and the leather used is tanned at what is the last remaining traditional oak bark tannery in the British Isles. There has been a tannery on the same site since Roman times and the leather is allowed to tan and preserve for nearly two years before it is used to create each bag for The Merchant Fox.
In using Devon river water, British oak bark from renewable sources and taking around two years to produce the rich coloured, organic leather, each bag is unique - a piece of genuine British-made luxury.
The character of leather will vary for every journal, making each one of a kind.
